Do you need to be an Arborist?
There are several types of certifications in arboriculture. Certified arborists are experts in the field of tree care. The ISA – International Society of Arboriculture – offers six different levels of training to professional tree-care professionals. In addition to this certification, a professional arborist has completed a rigorous program, which includes study of tree biology, disease, and growth patterns. 
A professional arborist is a licensed tree-care worker with at least three years of experience in the field. He or she should also be certified through one or more organizations. The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is a great resource for certification. Although it doesn’t guarantee quality, it’s a good sign of a professional’s commitment to continuing education and best practices.
To become a certified arborist, you must complete a certified arboriculture course. While there’s no requirement for formal certification, it’s worth knowing that the certification is highly regarded by tree-care professionals. A certified arborist will have completed a foundation degree or bachelor’s degree in arboriculture and meet the requirements for licensing and insurance in your state.
